Sermon; No more Worry
Please be encouraged , as you fight the good fight of faith today, remember this: Your mind is where the battle will take place. Whatever you allow to captivate your mind will rule your life. Will it be the Word of God or the lies of the enemy of your soul If you want the Word to reign, resist the devil when he comes to plant doubts within you. Refuse to surrender to the circumstantial pressure he brings your way. Decide at the onset that you will not succumb to this trial. Dig your heels in and stand immovable upon the promises of God. Ps 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). When thoughts come that are contrary to God's will, cast them down. And above all, don't worry. Worrying is meditating the thoughts of Satan. 1 Pet 5:7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately {and} cares about you watchfully.
SCRIPTURE READING: Philippians 4:1-9 Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!Phil 4:5 Let all men know {and} perceive {and} recognize your unselfishness (your considerateness, your forbearing spirit). The Lord is near [He is coming soon]. Phil 4:6 Do not fret {or} have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance {and} in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. Phil 4:7 And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison {and} mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence {and} is honorable {and} seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely {and} lovable, whatever is kind {and} winsome {and} gracious, if there is any virtue {and} excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on {and} weigh {and} take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. Phil 4:9 Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, {and} model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.Don't Worry; It Will Change ! ''Therefore take no thought saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Whitherwithal shall we be clothed?'' (Matt. 6:31, KJV) We must labor to enter into God's rest, that place of peace, quiet confidence, and joy in the middle of the temptation. For when we are resting in God we release the supernatural ability of God. However, we cannot rest if we are caught up in worry. Matthew 6:25 says to take no thought for your life, what you're going to eat, what you're going to drink, or what you're going to wear because life is much more than these things. Verse 27 says ''Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature?'' In other words, Jesus said, worrying about it isn't going to change your situation for the better. But it will change it for the worse. Then in verse 28 Jesus says, ''Why take ye thought for raiment. Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin, yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore if God so clothes the grass of the field which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, oh ye of little faith?'' Little faith is worrying about the things that you see instead of having confidence that God will take care of you. If God is taking care of you, then you don't have to be moved by what you see. Second Corinthians 4:18 says, ''While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary,'' which means they are subject to change. The situation you're dealing with is subject to change. It's going to change. I said, it's going to change. It's going to turn. You may say, ''Yeah, but how long will it be before it changes?'' That's not in our power. It's time for you to trust God. He knows the timing. He knows what's best. He knows when and where and how to do it. And it will be the greatest blessing to you. But you have to trust God. Lean not to your own understanding. Don't worry about it. It will change. !!
Remember God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think: Eph 3:20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over {and} above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]-- 2 Cor 4:18 Since we consider {and} look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless {and} everlasting. Please keep on reading and see how God cares for His children Scripture References: Matthew 6:24-34; Matt 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by {and} be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in). Matt 6:25 Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat {or what you shall drink;} or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? Matt 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? Matt 6:27 And who of you by worrying {and} being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature {or} to the span of his life? Matt 6:28 And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field {and} learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. Matt 6:29 Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [I Kings 10:4-7.] Matt 6:30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive {and} green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith? Matt 6:31 Therefore do not worry {and} be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? Matt 6:32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for {and} crave {and} diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.Matt 6:33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. Matt 6:34 So do not worry {or} be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries {and} anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. What a wonderful God we serve. do you see how He trying to make us see that we can trust Him? and how He keeps His eyes on each one of those that belong to Him. All He wants us to do is to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, not our own righteousness, because we have none, but to seek His righteousness and all these things will be added on to you What a wonderful God He is!! the next verse is showing us that He the Lord is our righteouness.! 2 Cor 5:21 For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in {and} through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. Not through our own efforts but by excepting the sufferings of Christ, whom He made to be sin for us and we could become righteous instead, as someone that paid the penalty for us and accepting that gift, He will declare us righteous. That is what we seek before everything else, and then all these things will be added on to you
Remember that even the best of people go through hard times, but God is able to deliver us out every situation. He will protect is us and rescue each one of us every time and we have this glorious Hope for the future that makes it worth to receive a never ending blessedness, never to cease!! Ps 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). Ps 121:3 He will not allow your foot to slip {or} to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber. 2 Cor 4:17 For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing {and} producing {and} achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], In all of this we can conclude that the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob will never cease to watch over and care for His own. And in the book of Romans 8:28-29 it states: Rom 8:28 We are assured {and} know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together {and} are [fitting into a plan] for good to {and} for those who love God and are called according to [His] design {and} purpose. Rom 8:29 For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren. Please read also: Scripture References: 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 2 Cor 4:13 Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak, 2 Cor 4:14 Assured that He Who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise us up also with Jesus and bring us [along] with you into His presence. 2 Cor 4:15 For all [these] things are [taking place] for your sake, so that the more grace (divine favor and spiritual blessing) extends to more and more people {and} multiplies through the many, the more thanksgiving may increase [and redound] to the glory of God. 2 Cor 4:16 Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying {and} wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day. 2 Cor 4:17 For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing {and} producing {and} achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], Above all we need to protect ourselves against the enemy of our soul, he will not give us a free ride. Though we know the Lord and made an effort to memorize and learn the scriptures we also have to arm ourselves. I will leave with this practical outfit to put on every morning before you go out of bed, God has provided it fo us, but is for us to put it on. Putting on your Armor
I pray; the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound {and} be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.
