Optimatica finds optimal solutions to practical problems, using mathematical methods

Mathematics, from the Greek mathe-matiká, is the study of patterns. Such patterns include quantities (numbers) and their operations, interrelations, combinations and abstractions; and of space configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations. (see Wikipedia)

Optimal means: solving the problems of my principal in the best way possible. That can be providing him with a solution as cheap or as profitable as possible. Not always can "optimal" be related to an economic or financial criterion and is my principal satisfied if I can provide him with a mathematical model that describes his part of reality better than before.
This website shows how mathematics can be used to solve business and daily life problems. Illustrated with examples from my professional and personal experience. Underlined links added, where appropriate. Navigate the site by using the expandable and collapsible Treepad tree, left of each page.

Remember what Norbert Wiener,   father of cybernetics wrote:

"One of the chief duties of the mathematician in acting as an adviser to scientists is to discourage them from expecting too much from mathematics."

I made this site with the Dutch programme Treepad Business Edition.
Its treelike structure helps me to organise things. But it does not allow much fanciful makeup, so it is lean and mean. Like what you would expect from an E-reader. Press F11 for a full screen view.
Another version of this site can be found on my blog.
I would like to help you: as professional, teacher, or hobbyist. I charge for-profit organisations a professional fee. Not-for-profits have to pay my expenses only. I would appreciate a thank-you mail for my help from students and hobbyists. My mail address is at the bottom of every page.
