*** The first game was published in the beginning of the nineties. ( If anyone can provide more info or a DOS version of this game, please let me know ! )
It has been called "Super Cars" and is a top-view racing game from "Gremlin Interactive".
The game could be played on some computers popular in the beginning of the nineties such as the Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, Amiga, Commodore 64 and the NES Spectrum computer.
There are 9 tracks at each of the 4 difficulty levels, which can be raced in any order (although the last track you race is made harder than usual).
In the races you win money, which can be spent on temporary handling and power upgrades, plus armour plating and front/rear shooting missiles that can knock out other racers. The player must finish in the top 3 of each race to progress - initially there are 4 computer opponents, but more are added as you progress through the game.
The car can be upgraded throughout the game via the shop section. The player is given an initial price, but also a number of options of things to
say to the salesman - with the right combination, the price will drop.
Three cars are available for purchase during the game, the Taraco Neoroder Turbo, the Vaug Interceptor Turbo and the Retron Parsec Turbo. Each appears to be based on a real car of the time with the Retron Parsec Turbo being based on the Cizeta-Moroder V16T, the Vaug Interceptor based on the Honda NSX and the Taraco Neoroder based on the Alfa Romeo SZ but with some slight changes.
*** The second game: There was also a Super Cars II sequel game that had the SZ
*** The third game: Supercars 3 is a Java / GTGE-powered remake of classic Super Cars / Super Cars II game from the Atari ST / Amiga, with stuff borrowed from those games and also from Supercars International (MS-DOS).
*** The fourth game has been developed in 2001. It is a very simple racing game. The developer asked me in those days if I could help with a picture from the SZ taken from directely above the car. I did send him the same pic. as is showed at the main page of the site. You can recognize it clearly in that game.
NCN Racer seems to be a popular game wich can be downloaded for free from the site from "New Cars Net" in the UK.
To steer the car you have move the mouse around your car, to accelerate or brake move further or nearer from your car.
!!! Sadly in 2017 I could not find the link there anymore, but luckily I copied I saved this simple game on my hard disc. So if you like to have it, please ask me and I will send it by wetransfere or as a zip file !!!
*** The fifth game: The SZ is also in the XBox game Project Gotham Racing ( PGR 2 onward ? )
Youtube Xbox game
*** The sixth game has been designed for the X-box-One: "The Bondurant Car Pack".
They just released the SZ as part of additional download pack of cars (on May 30 2014 ) specifically for Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox One.
Published also an animation video on YouTube at 02 June 2014.

I think it is amazing that even after 25 years the SZ still inspires game designers etc.etc. Unbelievable !!
Microsoft used SZ number118 from our Canadian register member P. Gicante.
To make the initial drawings and designs from the SZ for that game they took thousands of pictures of the car with blue tape attached to capture the contours etc.
*** There is a Japanese 'Anime' Film called Ghost in the Shell that has a car very much like an SZ, too.
