MIDI Tools

As its name implies, this application provides various MIDI-related tools:

  • Real-time MIDI input and output monitors.
  • Capturing, filtering and saving MIDI input messages.
  • The creation of MIDI thru connections (e.g. from/to virtual MIDI I/O ports).
  • A virtual MIDI controller board, capable of outputting control change messages.
  • A virtual MIDI keyboard (outputting note messages), controlled by the computer mouse. This includes a primitive arpeggiator.
  • A powerful System Exclusive message editor/uploader/downloader.
  • Four virtual Mackie Control displays.

Many of the Mountain Utilities hardware-specific editors also contain some or all of these tools, but MIDI Tools provides them without these editors' hardware-specific hullabaloo.
Thus, MIDI Tools can be very useful for small tasks and troubleshooting.

MIDI Tools 1.2.1 is now available.
In this version the Mackie monitors no longer display garbage.

MIDI Tools Manual (in pdf format):
Unless you wish to read the manual before the installation of MIDI Tools itself, you don't have to download it separately, since it is included in the MIDI Tools package.
It is mainly provided here because it also functions as a 'first-aid' manual for those Mountain Utilities editors that currently don't come with manuals themselves.
