Owl's (founded 1994) is the name of my kennel, and the first name of
all three of my dogs.
The Owl stands for Bundima (owl in Swahili),
my first Ridgeback and mother and grandmother of the dogs
I share my life with now.Holmland means "land between rivers"
and refers to a beautiful piece of land my family used to own.
Bundi's children were all born there.

Holmland Owl's Rafiki Cali (Cali)
Kwetu's Springtime in Holland Imp USA (Kana)
Holmland Owl's Bundi Asante (Sante)
Owl's Rafiki Cali and Holmland Owl's Bundi Asante (Cali and Sante) are children
from Bundi's second litter
Cali has been with me since he was born, Sante was returned to me when she was 1 1/2 years old.
My youngest dog (not on this picture) is Holmland Owl's Kana's Kiku (Koetje). She is Cali and Kana's daughter.
Cali is a very
cuddly, sweet, playful and gentle dog. He has always been around his mother
and now also his daughter, and he lets them all boss him around.
He has been shown (with excellent results) and sired one litter,
with my USA imported girl Kwetu's springtime in Holland (Kana).
He is not an overly active dog, and didn't really like training,
but we managed to reach GG level, and he has the GH Cynophilia and UV (endurance) diploma's.
His favourit place to be is Texel, where he can hunt rabbits for hours,..
Cali is 7 years old now, and handsome as ever. He is our couch potatoe, the girls' playmate and my buddy!
unfortunatly, has not been socialised and raised properly.
She doesn't have a lot of faith in the world around her, although she is happy with us.
She gets along very well with her brother Cali.
She also has the GH and UV titles and did some agility.
She is a very beautiful girl, but was never shown or bred.
Koetje is the
daughter of Kana (who lives with co-owners) and Cali.
She was born 5 months before Bundi died, and has helped me through some difficult times.
She was born with a kinked tail and a dermoid sinus, which only makes her extra special.
She is now 2 1/2 years old and the most intelligent and sensitive dog I have ever owned.
She is an absolute joy to live with and goes everywhere with me.
She has been 'clicker-trained' and raised in an all-positive way,
resulting in a active, outgoing and very happy dog with a mind of her own.
Breeding is a hobby I take very seriously. In the past ten years, I have had only three litters;
Almost 2 years ago, I imported a beautiful puppie from Denmark, Lewanika Báluka (Buniwa), who will hopefully be bred this year. Buniwa lives with co-owners.
Litter expected 2004
However, I mostly enjoy my dogs as my friends.
We do fun things together; hiking, training, trips to the Island Texel or just snuggle up on the couch.
I enjoy their company and just simply love to be around them. They are a truly special breed!
a little bit about
myself; I have been a Vet Tech for a few years, and now work at the 'breeding
and puppy department' of the Dutch Guide Dog School (KNGF Geleidehonden).
For the past ten years I have also been a trainer at a local dog training club, the Kynologen Vereniging Nieuwegein.
For some of my
personal ideas about dog training;
