The Lacandon photo collection of Jack H. Birchall was added to Mayaweb in fullcolour! The photos are published were first published in Birchall's Lacandonia 51, a unique report about fieldwork in the 1950's with the famous Duby-Blom couple, see: Lacandon Photos. 

Thank you for visiting the English section of Mayaweb. My name is Sebastiaan Roeling and I am an anthropologist from the Netherlands. I've been studying the Maya culture for many years, and made this website in honor of the Culture I fell in love with during my first trip to Mexico.

The English section is mainly dedicated to the Lacandon Maya's, although you can find some interesting things on the Ancient and other Modern Maya cultures (for example: How to write your name in Maya hieroglyphs).
