Plenitude: how to stay informed about important new papers on brain networks?

The internet has converted an economy of scarcity into one of plenitude. There is no lack of information, there is too much of it. The invention of the World Wide Web by Tim Berners-Lee has opened up the world, but has created new sorts of problems. The answers are there, but how can you find them? Search engines are an important step in the right direction: they allow us to find relevant websites in almost a split second. Google has become great this way, using an algorithm that is based on graph theoretical principles and keen understanding of the nature of complex networks. Scientists can retrieve as many papers as they want using for instance Pubmed or Google Scholar. But there is still too much; how many papers can you read per day? You also need some time to do a bit of research and writing papers. The plenitude needs to be filtered by criteria of quality, originality, relevance and novelty. It helps if groups of scientists, working on the same topic, point to each other what is really good and worthwhile spending time on. This page of the Connected Brains website attempts to help, by pointing out new and important papers on modern network science and the brain.
