I am Senior Scientist at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) in Wageningen, with main interests in Behavioural Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. My research focusses on explaining the causes and consequences of individual differences in behavioural consistency and plasticity. My main study object is a small passerine, the great tit (Parus major), which is one of the best studied model species in animal personality research from an ecological and evolutionary point of view. My current projects range from unraveling the genes involved in personality differences to investigating fitness consequences of variation in personality.
