Since the artist was a young girl, she loved to draw and paint. She finished the Famous Artists Schools, followed some courses, went to exhibitions and read a lot of books about art and artists

Most of the time Yvonne uses watercolor-paint and sometimes ink and pencil. A new item is the kitten pen and ink drawings, of which note cards will be made. A total different way of working is painting silk. She loves the sparkling colors and made some silk-landscapes.

Her subjects are rather various. Most of all she loves to paint cats. But also flowers, landscapes, still lives, portraits of children, cupola's and dogs are used as a theme for her paintings.

She has had a number of exhibitions in the Netherlands.

Yvonne Hamaker lives in the center of the Netherlands. During the trips she and her husband make with their boat in the summer, she uses her camera to take pictures of all the beautiful places, which can be seen from the water. She uses them as a basis for her paintings. The photos she makes of these picturesque places combines very well with the dreamy atmosphere she creates in her landscape paintings.

Nowadays she works a lot in commission for cat paintings.

Several articles of her artwork have been placed in catmagazines.

In the month of July 2001 she was winner of the award "Artist of the Month" of the Ascension Gallery of Fine Art.
