G. Pehlivanian, Muhai Tang and Marc Foster.
In the large orchestral repertoire her favorites are
the Mahler lieder but she also sang
the great oratorios and masses such
as the Verdi Requiem
performed at Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels,
the Stabat Mater by Rossini and Dvorak both performed in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Missa Solemnis by Beethoven under Marc Soustros, the 9th of Beethoven under Claus Peter Flor also performed in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. And ofcourse the Passions by Bach are sang by her many times.
As chambermusic performer Marion toured with the Allegri String Quartet, the Raphaël Quartet, the Ravel Quartet and the Ebony Band singing works by Brahms, Schubert, Chausson, Respighi and Schönberg. She gave lieder recitals in more than 9 languages in Amsterdam, London,Toronto, Curacao, New Delhi, Casablanca, Athens, Lugano, Manilla and Florence.

Marion van den Akker made CD recordings with Lieder of Brahms, Schumann, Liszt and Bartok with pianist Rian de Waal, available via this website. Marion van den Akker started professional singing at 16 and studied in Amsterdam. She attended masterclasses by Nicolai Gedda, Brigitte Fassbaender, Italo Tajo
and Josephine Veasey.
